Today we honor and celebrate those who have so bravely sacrificed everything for our freedom. THANK YOU to those who have served, are serving, and plan to serve for our country. As everyone celebrates with barbecues and family, we wanted to switch it up and share 3 festive recipes that we're loving for this special day.
#1 Appetizer- Kabobs!
Here are two cute appetizer ideas that are beyond simple with quick prep! The fruit kabobs cater to those who want something sweet and the tortellini kabobs are for those who need a little salt in their life. Both are super versatile too and you can get super creative! In the fruit kabob shown, it's just blueberries, strawberries, and bananas (keep in mind the bananas may brown a little). The tortellini kabobs are just multicolored tortellini, cherry tomatoes, and marinated mozzarella balls. A lot of these things you can buy pre-made and may just have to slice and assemble!
#2 Main Course- Tequila Chicken
This may take a little longer to prep, but it is so worth it! This chicken glaze is packed with flavor and to be honest we're drooling just thinking about it. It's such a different dish from the average bbq chicken and so much more refreshing!
#3 Dessert- Shortcake Cups
We're all about easy prep, as long as there's a yummy outcome. You can't really go wrong with these cute, festive shortcake cups. All it includes is angel food cake, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream. This is another recipe that can be totally customized with whatever fruit you like, and maybe even with ice cream instead of whipped cream!
